Dueling Axes is growing, and looking for a responsible, confident, energetic and reliable individual to help kick off our expanding business by being the Assistant General Manager of our Las Vegas, NV Dueling Axes locations. Your job will be highly important in ensuring the associate team meets its goals of efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position will require 40+ hours a week and will offer additional opportunity for growth as Dueling Axes grows. This is a salaried position that comes with health/dental/vision package.

The AGM will report directly to the General Manager and assist in overseeing all daily operations of the location. The successful candidate will ensure strategic goals are met by contributing in development of operational policies, creating and maintaining budgets, managing employees and taking on relevant responsibilities as needed. The AGM will assist in the training of coaches, bartenders and hosts, monitor inventory and work with the General Manager and Executive team to order inventory/merchandise based on need. The AGM will have management responsibilities including opening and closing of the venue, ensuring high level of staff performance, employee scheduling and participate in Dueling Axes special events. This position will also be aware of consumer behavior to ensure our store meets and exceeds client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have retail / bar / restaurant manager skills (F&B in the Las Vegas market a major plus) with a sharp business / think outside of the box mindset. The AGM should be skilled at organizing and solving problems with an extreme aptitude for customer service. Interpersonal and mediation skills will also be especially useful as you’ll often be acting as liaison between managers, employees and customers. The qualified candidate should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping people develop and be productive, while ensuring venue profitability. Ultimately, the duties of the AGM are to assist in making sure the venue operates efficiently and that we keep our customers safe and happy while developing and fostering a strong team culture.

Assistant General Manager Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily customer service operations (e.g., hosting, coaching, reservation management, sales/payments, bar duties)
  • Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best and stay productive
  • Act as our venue’s representative and set an example for our staff
  • Assist in the strategic planning with the GM and set goals for growth
  • Assist the GM and Executive team in planning and implementing marketing strategies to attract guests
  • Follow through on policies and procedures set by the executive team
  • Stay within budgets and control operating expenses
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new employees
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory retail items and bar product
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements of operations and financial performance
  • Participate in the evaluation of employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management, including opening/closing store reports, daily recap reports, etc. as designated
  • Suggest training programs and techniques as needed
  • Table touch to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. This includes guest check in at the front desk to bar / servers providing timely drink service, and coaching guest within an adequate time frame
  • Ability to communicate effectively to handle/address/resolve any guests issues or complaints
  • Make sure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines as well as follow all SNHD and safety regulations
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors, etc.)

Requirements

We’re looking for responsible, confident, energetic and reliable individuals to help others in your city experience something completely different – urban axe throwing. We are hiring Hosts and Hostesses for Las Vegas location inside of AREA15. You’ll be the first person to interact with our guests as they walk through our doors, greet them, and set the example of the excellent customer service they will receive while interacting with us. This position will report directly to the General Manager and will be a part time position.

For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. You will be expected to answer phones, interact regularly with our guests, and work within the company reservation software to create/update/cancel reservations as well as check in guests for their reservations. Shift times are flexible, but you should be prepared to work nights and weekends.

An upbeat, friendly attitude should be portrayed at all times and your ability to provide excellent customer service and a pleasant experience to out guests will be required at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests to the venue
  • Provide accurate details regarding guest reservations and wait times (when applicable).
  • Manage reservations in company provided software.
  • Answer phones to provide accurate company information for the appropriate location.
  • Escort customer to assigned throwing/bar areas.
  • Provide menus and announce coach/server names.

We’re looking for responsible, confident, energetic and reliable individuals to help others in your city experience something completely different and extremely fun – urban axe throwing. The Key Holder position will be an axe throwing coach as well as be responsible for mostly opening/closing shifts, and act as a shift lead if an Assistant Manager, or General Manager is not on duty (full training will be provided). This position will be highly important in ensuring Dueling Axes facilities:

  • Open and close on time
  • Are thoroughly cleaned (following company COVID response cleaning protocols) and presentable to guests at the beginning of a shift and/or ready for opening staff at the end of a shift/closing
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout every shift
  • Deliver an unforgettable, fun experience that meets and exceeds client expectations

This position will require a minimum of 20 hours a week, and could provide as many as 40 hours a week. The qualified candidate in this position will also have the ability to obtain additional opportunity for growth as Dueling Axes grows. The Key Holder will report directly to the General Manager and be in possession of facility door keys in the local market. This position would potentially have the opportunity to work in one or more store locations in the same market where applicable.

The customer experience is of the utmost importance at Dueling Axes. The ideal candidate will have an extreme aptitude for customer service and be very safety conscious. Server/bartender/retail experience is preferred and the candidate should be comfortable talking to and interacting with groups.

Key Holder Responsibilities

This position will assist in the daily operations of the store including but not limited to host responsibilities, coaching guests, taking and serving beverage orders (where applicable) and assisting in training new coaches and hosts. Other responsibilities include: 

  • Opening and closing of facilities
  • Counting/balancing the cash till at the beginning/end of each shift and logging accurate information using proper company procedure
  • Shift customer service and operations (e.g. hosting, coaching, serving, reservation management and payments)
  • Maintain upbeat attitude during shifts and interactions with guests and staff
  • Assist in motivating staff to perform their best

Axe Throwing Coach/Server – Las Vegas

We’re looking for responsible, confident, energetic and reliable individuals to help others in your city experience something completely different – urban axe throwing. We are hiring coaches for our Las Vegas location inside AREA15. You’ll be instructing groups of up to 12 people and teaching them how to safely and effectively throw an axe. You will also be responsible for supervising the throwing lane area, keeping customers safe and encouraging a fun atmosphere. Light server responsibilities will be required as well. You will be expected to keep an upbeat attitude and presence and actively be part of the Dueling Axes experience. (Full training provided)

  • Run events for up to 12 players per group, including safety briefings, axe throwing instruction, and general retail.
  • Ensure guests have a fun, safe experience and have constant awareness of health and safety.
  • Supervise gameplay, including being available to answer questions and instruct, uphold safety rules and regulations, act as referee when needed, interacting with the groups and generally ensuring everyone is having an amazing time.
  • Take drink orders, communicate with bartender for order placement, serve drinks within assigned area.
  • Safe use of basic power tools to maintain and replace targets – Cordless drill.
  • Prepare venue and lanes for reservations including keeping the space clean, replacing targets and checking axes.
  • Ensure that all company procedures and safety policies are followed at all times.
  • You must have excellent presentation and be confident coordinating groups of people.

Working hours – 10-40 hours a week. Working hours are flexible and dependent on when reservations are made. Most reservations will be on weekends and evenings, with specialty group events taking place during normal business hours.

Dueling Axes is expanding to the Las Vegas area and opening a new axe throwing facility with a beer/wine bar inside of AREA15. We’re looking for responsible, confident, energetic and reliable individuals to help sling drinks in our newest location. The Bartender position should be held by someone who enjoys interacting with people and can maintain an upbeat attitude for the duration of an entire shift. This position will report directly to the General Manager and should be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 1-year bartending experience.
  • Server experience in bar/restaurant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greet guests in a timely and professional manner while exhibiting excellent guest service skills.
  • Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items and be able to make recommendations.
  • Accurately take beverages orders from guests and deliver within established time frames in the bar and lounge area.
  • Prepare beverages that are consistent, and not deviate from procedures and ingredients outlined in recipes.
  • Pour beer and wine to specific portions.
